“The lineation becomes a medium of information, developing its own language. The strokes can be broad, massive and dominant, but they can also be fragile, tender and evanescent. Sometimes they appear singly, sometimes bundled in groups. Sometimes they indulge themselves freely in space, drawing the gaze into the depths, but they can also form an austere grille, blocking the view. Some lines hint at the figural, while others form themselves into letters and pseudo-words, which claim to say something and suggest meaning in a quite different way.”
